Liverpool want to recoup as much money for Darwin Nunez as possible this summer as their European rivals plot loan bids, sources have told Football Insider.

The Reds are desperate to claw back much-needed transfer funds in this window via a permanent sale as they plot huge business of their own - namely the mega-money swoop for Florian Wirtz.

Nunez, 25, has no future at Liverpool and is expected to leave Anfield before the end of the summer window.

Serie A champions Napoli and Spanish giants Atletico Madrid are among the clubs interested - but sources say both clubs would be keen to strike a potential loan-to-buy deal with an option or obligation.

Liverpool want permanent Nunez sale amid '£40m' reveal

It is believed both sides value Nunez at around £40million - a big drop on the initial £64million Liverpool paid to land him in 2022.

Saudi Pro League clubs have also been linked with a swoop for the Uruguay international.

Nunez made 47 appearances across all competitions in the 2024-25 campaign, but started in just 17 of those outings.

He scored just seven goals and notched seven assists as Arne Slot made a final decision on his future at Anfield.

The ex-Benfica star has hit 40 Reds goals in 143 appearances for the club.

'Liverpool plan to accept £10m winger offer'

That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game.

Speaking to Football Insider, Brown claimed the Reds would be prepared to accept offers equal to or higher than the £10million fee paid for Chiesa last summer.
