David Ginola has expressed his delight on social media after Newcastle achieved promotion to the Premier League on Monday night.
The Magpies guaranteed their top-flight status next season after comprehensively beating Preston 4-1 at St James’ Park.
They have now secured their top-two finish for automatic promotion from the Championship and have two games remaining to try catch leaders Brighton for the title.
Ex-Newcastle attacker Ginola congratulated his former side after their achievement and welcomed them back to the Premier League.
“Well done the Toon. Always knew you would do it. Welcome back,” Ginola wrote on his personal Twitter account.

Newcastle have been at the top-end of the table for the majority of the season and have been able to remain consistent throughout, with the occasional blip in a very competitive league.
They were relegated from the top-flight last season and were expected to bounce back at the first attempt after keeping experienced manager Rafael Benitez at the helm.
His side have the second best attacking and defensive record in the division, with quality all over the pitch.
The Magpies have had the likes of Paul Dummett, Ciaran Clark, Jamaal Lascelles and Karl Darlow remain so consistent in defence.
Meanwhile, Dwight Gayle, Matt Ritchie and Ayoze Perez have been the main source of goals for the side.
In other Newcastle news, Alan Shearer has urged the club not to stand still after securing promotion.
