David Gold has revealed on Twitter that midfield goal machine Michail Antonio is on the verge of signing a new West Ham contract.
Co-owner Gold confirmed the landmark deal on his personal Twitter account after the 27-year-old was named the club’s Player of the Year after an outstanding season.
Speculation has been rife about Antonio’s future at the London Stadium after a successful individual campaign despite his club’s poor season.
Here is Gold announcing that the Hammers are on the verge of a major deal:

The versatile player has played in a staggering eight different positions this season, scoring nine goals and supplying five assists.
Antonio’s current deal expires in 2020 after he made a summer move in 2015 from Championship outfit Nottingham Forest.
He has played 29 Premier League matches this term, but his season has been cut short after he suffered a hamstring injury against Swansea in April.
Football Insider verdict:
It is absolutely paramount that Antonio is tied up to a longer contract at the London Stadium because he is a key player for the club. His performances this season, whether he is playing out wide, through the middle or up top, have been priceless for Slaven Bilic’s struggling side. If the Hammers want to take the next step and chase European football next term then midfield goal machine Antonio is one of the players they must keep in the summer.
