Hollywood actor David Hasselhoff has strangely taken to Twitter to hail Liverpool youngster Ben Woodburn for scoring on his international debut for Wales against Austria on Saturday night.
Woodburn, 17, came off the bench to earn his first senior cap for his nation and it didn’t take him to long to produce some international heroics as he scored from outside the box to give Chris Coleman’s side a 1-0 win to keep their hopes of qualifying for the 2018 World Cup alive.
The attacker’s performance has attracted attention from many involved in the game, but surprisingly it is former Baywatch and Knight Rider actor Hasselhoff who has also taken his hat off to the Liverpool ace.
“Congrats to Wales!! What A game! And Ben Woodburn! Nice goal,” said Hasselhoff, who was perhaps watching the game due to his fame in Austria, on his personal Twitter account on Sunday morning.

Woodburn is yet to earn a single senior appearance for Liverpool but this display at international level will no doubt catch the attention of Jurgen Klopp, who has never been afraid to make use of youthful players during his managerial career.
English teenager Trent Alexander-Arnold has been a regular part of his squad in the opening weeks of this season but with the Reds attack firing on all cylinders, it may be difficult for Woodburn to beat players like Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah to a starting spot despite looking well within his comfort zone next to Gareth Bale on Saturday.
In other Liverpool news, John Aldridge has given his verdict on the Reds’ summer business.
