Rangers have completed the signing of midfielder Mohamed Diomande bar the final paperwork and an announcement is imminent, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking in the new episode of Football Insider’s Insider Track Podcast, transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the 22-year-old is set to become the Gers' second signing of the month.

Well-placed sources told Football Insider that manager Philippe Clement has "high expectations" of the FC Nordsjaelland midfielder, who cost the club £4.5million.

It is believed that Clement and Ibrox recruitment chief Nils Koppen completed extensive research and background checks on the Ivory Coast under-21 before making their move.

Now, Diomande is expected to become the club's first permanent addition this month after the loan signing of Fabio Silva from Wolves earlier in the window.

Diomande has earned rave reviews in the Danish top flight and has racked up five assists across 21 games this season.

He has made 111 total appearances for FC Nordsjaelland in all competitions, scoring 13 goals and providing 14 assists.

Clement is eager to bring in more recruits before the window shuts but may have to shift players off their books beforehand.
