Tottenham are expecting to make £22million Brazilian winger Lucas Moura their first signing of the season, according to a report.
The Mirror claim that after showing the player round their training facilities, that they hope to wrap up the deal for the dazzling winger at the weekend.
It would be Tottenham’s first deal of the January window.
Moura was unhappy at Paris Saint-Germain after falling down the pecking order behind Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Angel Di Maria.
The club were happy to move him on and take what looks like being a £14million loss after they bought him from Sao Paulo in 2013 for £36million.
Moura brings with him a wealth of Champions League experience with 229 appearances for PSG, although crucially he hasn’t played in the competition this season and would be eligible to play for Spurs.
He has scored 46 goals and added 50 assists for PSG since he’s been with them.
Football Insider verdict:
Tottenham fans will finally have something to cheer about in January after a long wait for the first Pochettino deal to be completed. This might not be the epic name that Spurs fans were looking for but that perhaps shows how far they’ve come under the Argentine. Moura might have fallen out of favour at PSG but he’s a senior Brazilian international with 35 caps and Daniel Levy got him at a knockdown price. That will make him happy and Spurs fans will be looking for Moura to do his business on the pitch.
