Luton defender James Justin has dropped a huge hint that he does not want a transfer this month despite interest from Leeds United.
Football Insider exclusively revealed earlier this week that Leeds are lining up a bid for right-back Justin, 18, in the wake of Luke Ayling being ruled out for the rest of the season.
The Yorkshire club have sent scouts to watch Justin several times this term while performing for League Two leaders Luton, where he has made 15 appearances across all competitions and scoring two goals in the process.
Now, Justin has confirmed that he is happy to stay at Luton until the end of the campaign as the Hatters look to continue their rise back through the divisions.
“Yes of course,” he told Ninety Minutes Online when asked if he’s content with staying at Kenilworth Road.
“Obviously there’s rumours going about all the time, especially if you are top of the league, and that is credit to our team that we are attracting so much interest.
“Nobody really plans to move in January so the target is to concentrate on each game and look forward to promotion at the end of the season.”
Nottingham Forest made several bids for Justin the summer after last term he helped Luton reach the League Two play-offs semi-finals.
The England Under-20s international is able to play at both right-back and left-back, although he is much more natural with playing on the right-hand side.
Leeds have a bit of a shortage at full-back due to Ayling’s injury, however left-back Laurens De Bock was confirmed to have signed for the Yorkshire side earlier this week.
In other Leeds United news, fans have reacted on Twitter after it was confirmed that this striker has agreed to sign for the Whites.
