Alli reveals surprise Tottenham approach after disappointing run of form
Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli has said that there is no need for the club to be worrying about their performances despite their recent run of poor form.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men have seen themselves pick up just one win in their last five Premier League games, which has resulted in a slip from sitting level on points with second placed Manchester United in third, to finding themselves down in seventh place, 16 points adrift of league leaders Manchester City and behind Burnley by a single point.
They have managed to pick up two Champions League wins amid their domestic games, and Alli says there is no need for the club to change their approach, insisting their quality and strong mentality will help them return to winning ways.
The 21-year-old told the London Evening Standard: “We don’t have too much to worry about. We are still improving as a team, and that is the main thing we have to focus on: improving every year.
“This is where we show our character. I’m sure the other teams are going to drop points as well. It is about how you bounce back.
“We are true to what we believe in and the way we play. We are never going to have a team that plays long balls and tries to win flick-ons. Route one isn’t us.

“We think we have got a very good team, we are confident in ourselves and we feel whoever we come up against, we are going to beat. That’s the attitude you have to have.”
Many will be surprised at the lack of change suggested by the youngster, with Spurs having seen themselves concede the first goal in each of their last four matches across all competitions, from which they have just one win.
They travel to Watford on Saturday looking to bounce back to winning ways after losing to Leicester City 2-1 on Tuesday, with the Hornets having been comprehensively beaten by Manchester United 4-2 in midweek.
