Rangers’ search for a replacement for Pedro Caixinha continues and Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes is no longer favourite to take the reins with Alex McLeish now in pole position.
SkyBet have installed the 58-year-old as favourite (11/10) to be the next Ibrox boss and the former Scotland boss would be an absolute disaster.
A return to the Ibrox dugout for McLeish has been rumoured after Ally McCoist and Mark Warburton left the club and the former Scotland boss could follow Walter Smith and Jock Wallace in having two stints as manager of Rangers.
After the shift in odds, McInnes (7/4) is second favourite to take over with former Ajax and Inter Milan manager Frank de Boer third (6/1) as the Rangers board take their time to appoint a new manager.
With the Gers falling nine points behind Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic following the 2-0 defeat by Hamilton on Saturday, the Rangers support are getting impatient with the time taken to replace Caixinha.
Interim manager Graeme Murty had won his first two games in charge before the weekend defeat as he was put in charge for the second time in 2017.
Here, Football Insider looks at the top candidates to take the reins at Ibrox after a reshuffle of the pack in the odds market.
