Don Hutchison: I can't believe Everton or Liverpool have not moved for this defender
By Harvey Byrne
Former Liverpool and Everton midfielder Don Hutchison has aired his shock that his old clubs are not making a move for Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah.
The 20-year-old centre-back has risen to fame in the last year, starring for his Bundesliga side, while also winning three caps for Germany.
Meanwhile, the defensive area for both of the Merseyside clubs is considered a weak area with the two sides among the worst three in the goals against tally in the top seven of the Premier League.
Hutchison believes Tah would be a good signing for both teams alongside Manchester City and shared on his personal Twitter account on Wednesday that he couldn’t fathom why they haven’t attempted to sign him.
I Can’t believe no1 has moved for B Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah yet!!!! M City/Liverpool/Everton especially….

Tah made the switch from Bundesliga rivals Hamburger to Leverkusen in the summer of 2015, signing a five-year deal.

He has starred in 20 appearances for Roger Schmidt’s team this campaign, who currently sit in ninth place in the German top flight.
He is considered a bright young talent in Germany and he will surely be on the radar of Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, while the Everton scouting system may have also identified him as a potential target for the future.
Football Insider verdict:
Tah is clearly a talented player and could prove to be a worthy investment in the future for a potential buyer. Hutchison has selected the right clubs who are in need of a new centre-back with Liverpool, Everton and Manchester City all having weak back fours. The Toffees have strongly been linked with a move for Southampton’s Jose Fonte, but Tah could prove the better signing due to the age difference between the two. Meanwhile, the Reds have been linked to Fonte’s centre-back partner on the south coast, Virgil van Dijk. Tah is younger than both, but he doesn’t come with the experience of playing at the top flight that the other two do, meaning there is more of a risk, which both clubs may be against making in January.
