Done deal: Liverpool attacker seals exit after agreeing terms

By Harvey Byrne

Liverpool have confirmed that attacker Sheyi Ojo has left Anfield in a loan move to English Championship club Fulham.

The Merseyside giants announced on their official Twitter account and official website on Wednesday afternoon that the 20-year-old left-winger had made the switch to London on a season-long deal.

The loan marks Ojo’s third temporary move away from Liverpool and to the Championship in his so far short career after previously spending time at both Wigan and Wolves in England’s second tier.

The left-winger competed in 30 matches in total for the two clubs, returning three goals and four assists and he will be hoping for similar success with Fulham.

The England Under-20 international has also made 13 appearances for the Liverpool first team, but he will be keen to kick start his career back up in the Championship after making just two FA Cup appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s team in the last campaign.

Football Insider verdict:

After previously being thought of as a bright prospect at Liverpool it is now looking as though Ojo is heading in the same direction as Jordon Ibe. At his age Ojo should have played more than two games for the Reds’ first team over the course of the entirety of the last campaign and he should at the very least be going out on loan to a Premier League side, rather than Fulham. Now, it looks as though Ojo’s time at Liverpool are winding down despite having three years left on his contract.

In other Liverpool transfer news, Roy Evans has urged the Reds to sign this type of player.
