The loan move marks young Onomah’s first spell away from Tottenham in his so far short career.
The youngster has already made 32 appearances for the Spurs first team, including 13 in the Premier League, while he also hit the headlines after a number of starring displays for the England Under-20s in their World Cup win earlier in the summer.
He will now be hoping to gain further experience with Aston Villa in the Championship, who will be gunning for promotion in the next campaign.
Meanwhile, Tottenham are likely to add to some further depth to their attacking midfield ranks this summer with Everton’s Ross Barkley heavily linked.
Football Insider verdict;
Onomah is one of Tottenham’s brightest young talents and this move suits all parties. The youngster proved with the Three Lions youth team that he is now ready to play further first team football and he is likely to be a standout player for Aston Villa in the Championship at his young age. The Midlands giants are going into the new campaign with high hopes and Tottenham fans will now surely keep an eye on their results to see how Onomah is progressing at the promotion chasing side. However, Spurs must also ensure they now bring an attacking midfielder into their squad this summer, as Onomah could have proven to be a good option for Mauricio Pochettino in the next campaign.
In other Tottenham transfer news, Celtic had also launched a bid for Onomah earlier in the summer.
