Dubravka tipped to start at Arsenal after 'brilliant' Newcastle training footage emerges - Robinson

Martin Dubravka will replace Karl Darlow in the Newcastle United starting XI at Arsenal.

That is the view of former Spurs and England number one Paul Robinson, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Eddie Howe’s potential team selection for Saturday’s clash.

Darlow, 31, produced a shaky performance in Saturday’s 3-3 draw against Brentford at St. James’ Park.

Dubravka has been named on the bench for the Magpies last three Premier League fixtures after recovering from a foot injury.

As captured by club media (November 24th), the Slovakia international is looking sharp in training.

He produced a fantastic save to deny Callum Wilson and Joelinton in a small-sided game.

When asked by Football Insider who should start between the sticks at the Emirates, Robinson said: “Dubravka is a brilliant goalkeeper.

“I do not know why he has been left out of the side. It’s strange to me.

“When the takeover happened, I could see three or four players staying at Newcastle long-term and Dubravka was one of them.

“I rate him very highly. He is a top goalkeeper and I’m sure he will come back into the team this weekend against Arsenal.

“There has been a lot of hype around Newcastle but they have got a huge job on their hands to stay in the Premier League. They need their best players out there if they have any chance of survival. Dubravka is one of them.”
