Dusan Vlahovic: Juventus stance emerges as Newcastle United target striker on free transfer
Juventus are trying to persuade Dusan Vlahovic to sign a new deal as Newcastle United target the talisman on a free transfer, sources have told Football Insider.
It is understood that any deal will be “difficult” for the Magpies to complete due to their lack of Champions League football next season, but it shouldn’t be completely ruled out.
The striker’s current deal at the Allianz Stadium is set to expire at the end of June, and he already has “a lot of options” amid interest from Barcelona, Arsenal and Atletico Madrid.
Newcastle are already desperate for new strikers, with Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa struggling to make the right impact at St James’ Park, and Will Osula taking on the responsibility up front.

Newcastle are already expected to cash in on Wissa, who has only played 27 games, and as Keith Wyness revealed to Football Insider, the club are even willing to lose money less than 12 months after his arrival.
Although Woltemade has also struggled, it is only the German international’s first season in England. His £69million price tag came with some heavy expectations, and fans have only seen flutters of that.
Vlahovic has also experienced a subpar campaign in Italy. Despite that, he has still notched 10 goals and two assists in 25 games during what has been an injury-plagued season for the Serbian national.

The 26-year-old has rarely struggled over the last eight seasons since breaking through at Fiorentina, and with that form, he continuously gets linked with a move to the Premier League.
Chelsea also join the race for Dusan Vlahovic
Chelsea are also interested in Vlahovic, and it is not entirely a surprise.
With Cole Palmer off the boil this season, Joao Pedro has been carrying the Blues in the final third, and Liam Delap is already expected to depart Stamford Bridge just 12 months after his arrival.
Marc Guiu has struggled for minutes in 2025-26, and with David Datro Fofana and Nicolas Jackson set to return from their loans, Xabi Alonso doesn’t have the biggest pool of talent to work with.
Given that the current squad was built mainly by Enzo Maresca, the incoming manager is likely to want signings of his own, and that could include Vlahovic on a free transfer.
