Netherlands fans are desperate to see Ronald Koeman become their national side’s new manager but he would rather remain at Everton, according to a Dutch journalist.
Manager Danny Blind was sacked on Monday after losing to Bulgaria in a 2018 World Cup qualifier, leaving the Oranje fourth in Group A behind Bulgaria, Sweden and France.
De Telegraaf writer Marcel Van der Kraan told talkSPORT that fans want to see Koeman replace Blind, but revealed sources have told him Koeman will remain as Toffees boss.
“The whole nation wants Ronald Koeman,” van der Kraan said, as quoted by Alan Brazil’s personal Twitter account.
“But from my contacts, he does not want to walk away from Everton at all.”

Former Southampton manager Koeman is enjoying a good spell of form with the Toffees, winning eight of their last 11 Premier League matches including victories against Man City, Leicester and West Brom.
Koeman, who has 78 caps for the Dutch national side, has a contract with the Merseyside outfit until the summer of 2019.
The news of Koeman’s desire to remain with Everton will come as a huge boost to Toffees fans, as the 54-year-old continues to be linked with Barcelona.
The former Ajax, Valencia and Benfica boss will take to the dugout for the 33rd time as Toffees boss on Saturday, as they go up against bitter enemies Liverpool in the second Merseyside derby of the season.
Liverpool secured a 1-0 victory in the reverse fixture back in December at Goodison Park, but the Toffees will be desperate to exact revenge at Anfield in Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off.
In other Everton news, the Toffees are pursuing this midfielder reportedly worth £25.8million.
