Eberechi Eze has given Mikel Arteta more to worry about as the Arsenal star was forced off against Newcastle United.
The Gunners won 1-0 to reclaim their spot at the top of the Premier League table, with Man City busy in action in the FA Cup semi-final against Southampton on Saturday, 25 April.
Arteta had already lost Kai Havertz in the first half, needing to be replaced by Viktor Gyokeres, before Eze trudged off the pitch, with Gabriel Martinelli coming on in his place.
Arsenal remain without Jurrien Timber and Mikel Merino, and one of their most creative players appears set to join them on the treatment table, potentially for the rest of the 2025-26 campaign.

Eze had fired his side ahead with an incredible effort from outside the penalty area, but his injury certainly put a dampener on the afternoon, potentially ruling him out in the final few games of the season.
Speaking after the game about both injuries, Arteta said: “In relation to the two players who you mentioned [Eze and Havertz], they are muscle [injury] and niggles. We don’t think it’s too much.
“But we’ll have to wait and see if they’re available for Wednesday.”

With Martin Odegaard far from his best this season, it is a blow that could be greatly felt in the Gunners’ remaining matches, especially with Man City just three points behind with a game in hand.

Given Havertz’s issues this season, with the German making just nine Premier League appearances so far, the supporters are understandably worried about his setback.
It could be the end for the 26-year-old as well, with Mick Brown telling Football Insider that Arsenal are eyeing a replacement for Havertz, but the main focus will be on getting him back to full fitness.
Of course, it was a disappointing moment for the centre-forward, but the Gunners held out for all three points without him, with Gyokeres doing all of the dirty work in the final third.
