Man City are braced for offers from clubs in Saudi Arabia for Ederson in the coming weeks, sources have told Football Insider.

Saudi Pro League clubs are set to decide their summer budgets soon, which will trigger movement all across the transfer market given the vast funds expected to be at their disposal.

Despite reports to the contrary, interest in the Brazilian goalkeeper remains very strong, and he is keen to make the move to the Middle East.

Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson recently told Football Insider that Saudi clubs are the only ones that could afford to match Ederson's high value and wage demands.

City are expecting offers to arrive for their number one before the transfer window closes on 31 August.

Emerson has already had discussions over a "huge" package that would significantly increase his already vast City salary.

Man City braced for Ederson offers from Saudi Arabia

Ederson joined City from Benfica for £35million in 2017, and he has since made 332 appearances as one of the most key players under Pep Guardiola.

In that time, the goalkeeper has lifted six Premier League titles, four League Cups, two FA Cups, the Champions League and a Club World Cup.

However, the reigning Premier League champions are prepared to see him leave this summer after a mixed season last time out in which he struggled with injuries.

Now aged 30, the goalkeeper is the latest superstar name targeted by clubs in Saudi Arabia as they look to expand the quality and reputation of the Saudi Pro League.

He would join the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and N'Golo Kante - while they have also targeted moves for Kevin de Bruyne and Mohammed Salah.

Ortega stepped up at times during Ederson’s absence last season, making 20 appearances across all competitions and nine in the Premier League, keeping eight clean sheets.
