Sources: Bolton's Ethan Erhahon facing pivotal decision as two teams 'alerted'
Scotland and Nigeria are both battling to secure the international future of Bolton Wanderers midfielder Ethan Erhahon, sources have told Football Insider.
The 25-year-old has caught the eye with some impressive performances for the Trotters in the Championship so far this season, and now faces a pivotal decision regarding his future at international level.
The former Lincoln City man is eligible to represent both Scotland and Nigeria, and the duo are currently vying for the chance to call him up, after being "alerted" by his recent displays.
Erhahon previously represented Scotland at U17 level, and the SFA are currently trying to "convince" him to choose them at senior level.
The Bolton star played a key role in their promotion from League One last term, and his pass completion percentage of 90 per cent currently ranks him among the Championship's best midfielders in that department.
Erhahon's game has gone from strength to strength in recent years, and that has catapulted him towards international attention.

Erhahon has proven to be an excellent signing for Bolton, as he has quickly become a mainstay in Steven Schumacher's midfield.
He has started in six of Bolton's eight league games so far this term, and has chipped in with one goal to help his team to 15th in the table at the first international break.
Erhahon is set to remain with his club throughout the break, but that may not be the case for him by the time November's international fixtures come around.
The midfielder is now being tempted by both Scotland and Nigeria, who are prepared to offer him the chance to play international football for the first time.
Erhahon has steadily stepped through the level of the Football League and is now ready to take the next jump away from Bolton.

Football Insider revealed on deadline day that Gent forward Max Dean was due to undergo a medical at Bolton, only for the move to fall through at the last minute.
However, Schumacher's men have had no problem scoring goals so far this term, with 11 to their name after the opening eight games.
That tally includes the four strikes that saw them win away at Norwich last weekend, plus two-goal tallies in defeats to Sheffield United and West Ham.
Bolton have scored significantly more goals than the majority of the teams below them in the early-season table.
If they can continue their current form in front of goal across the rest of the campaign, then Schumacher will be confident that they can avoid the drop.
