An eight-figure bid has been launched for Tottenham centre-back Kevin Wimmer by London rivals Crystal Palace, according to a report.
The Daily Mail have claimed on their live transfer blog (Tuesday, 10.14am) that the south east London side have made an offer worth £15million for the Spurs 24-year-old.
It is detailed that the Austria international is wanted by three Premier League clubs with West Brom also having a bid last week, while Stoke are also eyeing up a move alongside Palace.
Tottenham themselves have added young centre-back Davinson Sanchez from Ajax this summer, while the Mail report claims they are in talks to sign the promising Juan Foyth from Estudiantes.
This has meant Wimmer has become available and while Spurs are reported to value him close to £20million they are thought to be likely to sell for an initial £15million plus add-ons.
Wimmer has four years remaining on his contract at north London, but has not yet appeared for the club yet this season.
Football Insider verdict:
It has become clear over the past year that Wimmer is not favoured by manager Pochettino, who has often elected to play Eric Dier in the back line ahead of the Austrian and with the signing of Sanchez alongside the potential addition of Foyth it is clear that the 24-year-old’s days in north London are numbered. £15million would also present good business for Tottenham, who signed Wimmer for just £4.3million two summers a go and therefore Spurs should definitely push through this deal with nine days left of the summer window.
