Emmanuel Dennis is 'perfect' West Ham signing after talks update - pundit

Emmanuel Dennis could be the “perfect” player to boost the West Ham squad ahead of next season.

That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the striker’s future.

A recruitment source told Football Insider (21 May) that West Ham held talks with the player’s representatives last week regarding a potential move to the London Stadium.

Watford are understood to be willing to cash in on their star striker after suffering relegation.

Kenny claims Dennis could be the perfect player to boost the Hammers’ attacking options.

“To get double figures in the Premier League is impressive,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“To get double figures in a pretty bad Premier League team that got relegated is even more impressive.

“He knows where the net is and I think he could be the perfect player to fill out the squad.

“That’s what they need because I think it cost them this season, they had a very thin squad for a team competing in Europe.

“Obviously they are in Europe again next season so they need a squad. A young lad with goals in him will be very useful.”

Nigeria international Dennis has been one of Watford’s shining lights this term after joining from Club Brugge last summer.

He has scored 10 goals during the 2021-22 season as well picking up six assists despite the Hornets’ poor campaign.
