English club makes shock approach for Rangers first-team star - reliable journalist

Bristol City have made “shock” enquiries to Rangers about centre-forward Alfredo Morelos, according to a report.
Sun reporter Alan Nixon claimed on his personal Twitter account on Sunday that the English Championship club have approached the Gers with enquiries about Morelos, 21, but it is understood that the move would be costly for the Robins.

Morelos signed for Rangers in the summer for £1million from HJK Helsinki and has wasted no time in becoming a star of the first-team, becoming an instant hit with the Ibrox faithful.
The Colombian is currently the top goalscorer in the Scottish Premiership with 10 goals in 20 league appearances.
The ex-Independiente Medellin ace also has netted an extra two in cup competitions for the Light Blues.
The Scottish Sun has earlier reported that Bristol City manager Lee Johnson was plotting to make a bid for Morelos this month in order to strengthen his side’s bid for promotion.
Football Insider verdict
It seems very unlikely that Morelos will leave Ibrox this month. The Colombian forward has hit the ground running and it would be a daft move to halt his momentum and move south of the border half way through the season. Rangers should probably worry about his future in the summer though. Morelos is likely to keep on getting the goals once the Light Blues are back in action and that can alert plenty of English teams to his ability in British football. It is said that the Gers want to double what they spend on Morelos in order to let him leave, but they should be demanding much more than that.
In other Rangers news, there have been discussions held about the Gers’ hunt to sign this international playmaker from the Premier League.
