Erling Haaland may have held behind-the-scenes talks with Man City teammate as footage emerges - pundit
Erling Haaland may have held behind-the-scenes talks with his Man City teammate Kevin De Bruyne, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed there was a difference between the pair from the Community Shield to the 2-0 win over West Ham last weekend (6 August).
Haaland scored both goals at the London Stadium after an underwhelming debut in the 3-1 defeat to Liverpool the weekend before (30 July).
The 22-year-old scored his first goal from the penalty spot before doubling his tally after a De Bruyne through ball left him one-on-one with the goalkeeper.
“First of all, they were idiots who were calling him out after the Community Sheild,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“He’s a top, top player. You know when someone is going to do it in the Premier League when they do it in the Champions League against Premier League teams. He looked a threat against Man City in the Champions League.

“He’s got all the attributes to do it in any league. He’s tall and quick. The acceleration and movement he showed for the penalty, his movement for the other goal was unstoppable. He’s going to destroy defences.
“With Kevin De Bruyne giving you that sort of service, they’ve already got that connection.
“In the Community Shield, Kevin De Bruyne didn’t play that ball that he did against West Ham.
“Kevin De Bruyne and him must have spoken and he said ‘When I make those runs, play me’ and that’s what he did.
“He’s going to be a menace. I can see him and [Darwin] Nunez doing numbers in the Premier League.”
