Ermedin Demirovic can play key role in Leeds United landing double international swoop

Leeds United‘s strong interest in VfB Stuttgart’s Ermedin Demirovic could see Daniel Farke secure two big signings up front this summer.

The 28-year-old centre-forward has long been linked with a move to Elland Road, and after a 2025-26 campaign of 15 goals and four assists, he would be an incredible addition ahead of next season.

Farke appears desperate to add reinforcements to the team over the summer months, even calling out 49ers Enterprises in the media to make a point about his club’s business during the window.

Despite good performances from Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha, Leeds must splash cash on a new striker to reach the next level, and Demirovic might not be the only figure to arrive in West Yorkshire.

Leeds United target international duo at Elland Road

In addition to Demirovic, the Daily Mail (1 June) has reported that Leeds are also interested in RB Salzburg winger Kerim Alajbegovic, who has racked up 13 goals and four assists in 44 appearances.

It is only the 18-year-old’s first season in senior football, having joined from Bayer Leverkusen last summer, but impressing so much that the Bundesliga giants have triggered a £7million buy-back clause.

Leverkusen are likely to cash in for quite some profit, with Leeds joined by Aston Villa, Napoli, AS Roma, Arsenal and Inter Milan all joining the race for the teenager’s signature this summer.

It is only natural for players to talk about their potential transfers on international duty, and with Bosnia and Herzegovina reaching the 2026 World Cup, Demirovic and Alajbegovic will have plenty of time to do so.

Bosnia and Herzegovina teammates could stop Daniel Farke concerns

Although Calvert-Lewin and Nmecha ended the season with decent numbers, they were sometimes unreliable in front of goal, missing chances that should have rippled the back of the net.

Farke has already threatened to quit Leeds should his ambitions not be matched by the club in the transfer market, but signing both Bosnians would surely persuade him to stay.

Demirovic and Alajbegovic have had sensational seasons in their own right, and it would be foolish of the 49ers not to use the more experienced centre-forward to drag the winger to Elland Road.

It’s certainly a stretch, but if the Whites can get a nearly deal done for Demirovic, it could make it all the more simple to beat a host of other clubs to Alajbegovic’s signature.
