Borussia Dortmund wonderkid Christian Pulisic has revealed he once trained with Tottenham before moving to the Bundesliga outfit.
The now 18-year-old completed a move to the German club at the age of 16 in February 2015 from hometown side PA Classics.
However, it could have been a different outcome for the now establish United States international after he trained with Premier League duo Tottenham and Southampton before receiving an offer too good to turn down at Dortmund.
“I had a few training sessions with Tottenham and Southampton,” told Pulisic to FourFourTwo.
“I played for the US national team in some tournaments in Europe and Dortmund had scouts there. I knew about how Dortmund developed young players. I came here, liked it a lot and they offered me something that I could not refuse.”
Pulisic has since made 38 appearances in all competitions for Dortmund with 26 of them coming in this current campaign.
He has brought a fine return four goals and seven assists and he has often been linked with a move to the Premier League.
However, with his contract set to run until 2020, Thomas Tuchel’s side will be hoping they can see a lot more of the 11-time US international in the years to come.
The young talent would have certainly fitted into Tottenham’s criteria of bringing in emerging stars from around Europe.
But, Pulisic could now be one that the north London club regrets losing in the future.
