Everton are one of three Premier League teams in the hunt to sign centre-forward Rodrigo from Spanish outfit Valencia, according to a report.

Italian transfer site Calcio Mercato claim that the Merseysiders, Tottenham and Brighton are all eyeing moves in the summer for the 27-year-old.

It is said Rodrigo has a release clause worth £105million, but the Premier League trio are "ready to show up" with bids of no less than £35million.

Rodrigo is a left-footed attacker renowned for his blistering pace and has helped Valencia climb up to fourth in the La Liga table.

The Spain international has scored 16 goals across all competitions this campaign and signed a new contract last year that keeps him at the club until 2022.

Football Insider verdict:

There is no doubt that Everton needs to sign a new centre-forward in the summer to provide competition for Cenk Tosun, who has showed promising signs in recent matches but is no Romelu Lukaku. Rodrigo has really impressed in La Liga this campaign and looks like someone who could light up the Premier League. The Spaniard has blistering speed and has proven he can be clinical on his favoured left foot in front of goal. The Merseysiders have the financial means to make Valencia an offer for the front man that they cannot refuse.
