Everton and Arsenal were among the scouts at Sunday’s Portuguese top-flight match between Braga and Vitoria de Guimaraes, according to a journalist.
Jan Hagen, who has written for the Metro alongside being a Portuguese football expert claimed via his personal Twitter account on Tuesday that both the Toffees and the Gunners jetted out on a scouting mission at the weekend alongside the likes of Watford and Cagliari to watch Braga achieve a 2-1 victory.

It is unclear who either side were paying attention to, but Paulinho, Raphina and Ahmed Mahgoub would have particularly impressed after managing to get on the score sheet for the respective sides.
Everton themselves may be looking for a new goalscorer after struggling in their opening games in the 2017-18 campaign following the sale of star Romelu Lukaku.
Meanwhile, Arsenal may also be keeping their eye on a number of attackers following the sale of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Liverpool alongside the question marks remaining over the future of star Alexis Sanchez.
Football Insider verdict:
It makes sense for both Premier League clubs to keep their eyes on a number of players during the close window with many believing the pair could have strengthened further in the summer. That opinion is also showing for both clubs in their results with Arsenal sat in 12th, while Everton are languishing down in 18th and while it is unclear who either club were looking at for Braga, or Vitoria de Guimaraes there could be an unknown talent who could excel in the Premier League like so many more have done before.
In other Everton transfer news, the Toffees are in pole position to sign the next Angel Di Maria.
