Sam Allardyce is not expected to risk making too many changes to his Everton side which earned a draw with Liverpool at Anfield, when they play Newcastle United.

The Toffees recorded a 1-1 draw with their bitter rivals on Sunday, after Wayne Rooney converted a penalty.

Allardyce now face a Newcastle United side on Wednesday who are 16th with 15 points, after failing to win any of their last seven league games.

The Magpies have slumped to six defeats in this period, and lost to Leicester City on Saturday after a late own goal by Ayoze Perez.

Everton go into this game unbeaten in their last three league games, winning two of them.

The improvement in form has seen the Toffees move into the top-half of the table, and if Everton avoid defeat it would keep them in the top-half.

Allardyce seems to have had a big impact since arriving at Goodison and another win would really win the fans over.

Fixtures are coming thick and fast though, and all eyes will be on his Wednesday line-up.

Goalkeeper and defence

Jordan Pickford (Goalkeeper) - Pickford could do nothing about Mohamed Salah's goal on Sunday and was one of the side's best performers when they were struggling this season. The goalkeeper should remain one of the first names on the team sheet.

Cuco Martina (Left-back) - Martina had a mixed game against Liverpool but after the injury to Leighton Baines the defender seems to be the only option available to Allardyce, and he should get the nod to start.

Ashley Williams (Centre-back) - The defender has dramatically improved since Allardyce's arrival and is expected to keep his place in the starting line-up.

Mason Holgate (Centre-back) - The young defender had a solid performance on Sunday and should make the starting XI after Allardyce complimented his side's defensive performance against Liverpool.

Jonjoe Kenny (Right-back)- Made an absolutely critical block against Liverpool and it would be a surprise if he wasn't named in the starting XI.

Midfield

Aaron Lennon (Right-midfield) - The experienced midfielder replaced Tom Davies at half-time and it's likely he'll start the game against Newcastle United. Lennon was a part of the reason why Everton's improved in the second-half of the game against the Reds. He is better going forward than Davies, and the Toffees are likely to attack more against the Magpies. Davies should pay the price for his woeful Merseyside derby display.

Wayne Rooney (Centre-midfield) - Rooney started the game against Liverpool on the right but will likely move back into the middle for the Newcastle United game. The midfielder will hope to continue his goal scoring form against the Magpies after scoring four in his last three league games.

Idrissa Gueye (Centre-midfield) - The midfielder is expected to keep his place in the team after another decent performance on Sunday.

Gylfi Sigurdsson (Left-midfield) - Sigurdsson didn't have many opportunities to go forward against Liverpool and will be hoping the Newcastle United match provides him with more chances. The midfielder is expected to get the nod to start.

Forwards

Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Striker) - The young striker made the headlines as he was the player who won the penalty. Calvert-Lewin worked hard despite his lack of chances and Allardyce is likely to keep starting him.

Oumar Niasse (Striker) - Niasse was woeful against Liverpool and dragged off at half-time. However, he is expected to start against Newcastle United and should have more space to operate in. Niasse has scored five league goals in eight appearances so far this season.
