Everton fans hit out at 27-year-old after his comments about star player

By Amir Mir

Yannick Bolasie has admitted that Everton are not able to stand in the way of wantaway striker Romelu Lukaku – and fans on Twitter have hit out at the winger for his comments.

The 27-year-old gave an interview to Sky Sports which has seemingly angered the Goodison Park faithful.

He stated that “I speak to Rom [Lukaku] every day and when a man has his plan, he has his plan. You can’t really stop that.”

Belgium international Lukaku recently stated that he is not going to sign a new contract with the club as his future on Merseyside will now come into question this summer.

Many Everton supporters were unhappy with Bolasie for his comments about the club’s star player as they feel they can keep Lukaku beyond this season.

One fan even stated that if Lukaku does end up moving on in the summer then Bolasie can leave with him.

Winger Bolasie is currently out of action after suffering a knee injury during the clash against Manchester United in December.

He is set to miss the rest of the campaign, but fans felt he could have handled his questions regarding his teammate a lot better.

Bolasie moved to Goodison Park last summer when he made the switch from Premier League rivals Crystal Palace.

The tricky wide player formed a good understanding with Lukaku, who benefited from his mazy runs and crosses from the byline.

At this moment in time, Lukaku is the top scorer in the Premier League and he will be looking to add to that tally at the weekend.

Ronald Koeman’s side take on their Merseyside rivals Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday afternoon as the Premier League returns from the international break.
