Everton fans have praised their former midfielder Gareth Barry after he broke Ryan Giggs’ Premier League appearance record.
The 36-year-old featured in his 366th top flight game on Monday night during West Bromwich Albion’s controversial 2-0 defeat to Arsenal.
The defensive midfielder achieved the record after making five appearances in the competition with the Baggies as well as 365 with Aston Villa, 132 in a Manchester City jersey and a total of 131 as an Evertonian.
The Toffees fans have praised the defensive midfielder for his recent achievement on social media and believe that there aren’t many players like him left in the game while many supporters have revealed that they wish that Barry still played at Goodison Park.

Barry moved to Tony Pulis’ side on a one-year-deal during the recent summer transfer window after a total of three years with the Merseyside club.
His experience was valued at Everton which led to the former England international regularly captaining his side over the past three seasons.
The midfielder has also be recognised for his passionate and physical nature on the pitch which has led to his picking up 125 yellow cards throughout his time at Everton, Man City and Aston Villa.
In other Everton news, the Toffees have also made an approach for this international forward.
