Enner Valencia gave an impressive second-half display as Everton earned a narrow 1-0 win over Watford on Friday – and fans on Twitter were delighted.

The 27-year-old attacker was omitted from the starting eleven for Everton’s final home game of the season, but he was swiftly introduced by Ronald Koeman at half-time in order to boost his side’s attacking impetus.

Valencia gave Koeman and Everton exactly what they required throughout the second-half, making an immediate impact in the final third and helped swing the game in favour of the hosts.

The Ecuador international is nearing the end of his spell at Goodison Park, having arrived on a season-long loan from West Ham last summer, but fans on Twitter have urged Koeman to extend his stay following his display.

Valencia has contributed just three goals and two assists from his 21 appearances in all competitions this term, but Everton fans feel has been of great value as a squad player.

He is capable of playing anywhere across the attack, as a winger, a centre-forward or as a shadow-striker, which could offer Koeman a variety of options if he were to push for a permanent move this summer.

Everton secured the victory courtesy of Ross Barkley’s well-taken long-range effort, which saw them end their three match winless run in the Premier League.
