'Next level' – Everton fans react to report Big Sam poised to swoop for top-flight title-winner

Everton are in the hunt to sign Swansea City midfielder Ki Sung-yeung this summer who is available on a free, according to a reliable journalist.

But supporters aren’t positive about the potential arrival.

Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol made the claim on his official Twitter feed regarding the Toffees interest in the Swans defensive midfielder and wrote: “Everton latest club to show interest in signing Swansea City midfielder Ki Sung-yeung. AC Milan and 4 PL clubs also want him. Free agent this summer.”

The Toffees will reportedly face a fight for the player’s signature as it would seem the former Scottish Premiership champion with Celtic is a man in demand.

A South Korean international, the 29-year-old has missed a large portion of the season due to a knee injury and a calf strain but that doesn’t seem to be enough to put off a host of suitors.

Everton fans believe that the interest in the player, who is out of contract at the end of the season, smacks of mediocrity and don’t believe he is the kind of signing they ought to be making if they are looking to progress.

Supporters are already unhappy with the current managerial situation and are keen to see the back of Sam Allardyce and director or football Steve Walsh, who are the butt of complaints from the Blues faithful.

One supporter joked that they “Would rather sign Kim Jong un,” but another suggestion was that the club makes a move to sign Swansea defender Alfie Mawson instead.

Here is a round-up of reactions from the Everton faithful to the reported interest in the South Korean:
