Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye has put pen to paper on a new contract with the Goodison Park outfit and will remain on Merseyside until 2022.

However, it was actually back in October that an FA document showed that Gueye actually agreed to extend his stay with the Premier League outfit and it is this information that has got supporters of the club reacting on social media.
And the responses have been hilarious with fans jibing their side for the fact that this has taken so long to come to the fore.
One said, ‘Hahahahahah forget to press send on the tweet 4 months ago?’
With another reacting sarcastically and Tweeted, ‘Had Ross Barkley signed yet.’
Both Gueye and his manager Sam Allardyce have stated that following the confirmation of the Senegal-born star’s contract extension how pleased they both are with the deal.
Big Sam said as quoted in The Mail: “I’m really pleased that Idrissa has signed a new deal at the club. He’s been terrific since I’ve been here and it’s fantastic for the club.”
And Gueye added: “I am very happy to sign a new contract with Everton. It is great for me and for the club and I am very happy.
“I love the fans here. They have been great to me. They made it easy for me to sign this contract. Of course, I spoke with my family and my agent, but the love of the fans was really important and this is a really good thing for me.”
It is at last, some good news for the Blues faithful, who have had to endure a largely disappointing campaign.
Expectations were high coming into the season considering the huge outlay the club had made on new acquisitions in the summer.
Sandro Ramirez was one such arrival but his time at Goodison looks to heading to an end with the player admitting that he wants to remain in Spain following his loan move to Sevilla in January.
