Everton have announced the signing of emerging star Tom Davies on a new five-year deal – and Toffees fans on Twitter are ecstatic.
The 18-year-old was handed his first team debut by former manager Roberto Martinez against Southampton last April.
However, he has seen much more action under Ronald Koeman and has appeared in 29 outings for the Merseyside club, returning one goal and three assists.
Davies had also only signed a new five-year deal last summer taking him up to 2021, but the official Everton website announced on Monday afternoon that he had agreed to stay at the club until 2022.
Everton fans are always keen to see the club bring players though their academy and they are also eager to see the club retain their emerging stars.
As a result, the news has been received brilliantly on social media, with many claiming the new contract is fully deserved, while others simply congratulated him.
Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Everton are clearly looking to progress under Koeman and owner Farhad Moshiri and fans will now be hoping for announcements regarding the long-term plans of star duo Ross Barkley and Romelu Lukaku.
