Everton fans react on Twitter after Barcelona revelation

By Danny Wright

Everton fans are worried about losing manager Ronald Koeman to Barcelona at the end of the season.

It was announced on Tuesday that Luis Enrique will leave the Nou Camp in the summer, which has led to the Toffees supporters pondering the future of their current boss.

Koeman was a Barcelona player and made over 200 appearances for the Catalan giants during a six year spell between 1989 and 1995.

He won all there was to win in his time in Spain lifting four La Liga titles, the Copa Del Rey and a European Cup in 1992 when Koeman scored a famous winning goal from a free-kick in the final.

The Dutchman has also done well in his two spells in England.

He managed 91 games for Southampton before moving to Goodison Park at the beginning of the season to replace Roberto Martinez.

The 53-year-old has led the Merseyside to seventh place in the Premier League and is rapidly closing down on some of the league’s top clubs.

Everton fans are now afraid that Koeman may move back to Barcelona, where he made himself into such a well-known name as a player.

Here is a selection of tweets from Everton fans about the potential move:
