Sources: Everton to listen to offers for Andre Gomes - he's free to find a new club

Everton are planning to sell Andre Gomes this summer, Football Insider understands.

The Portugal international, 28, has slipped down the pecking order at Goodison Park as Frank Lampard plots a complete summer overhaul.

An Everton source has told Football Insider that the club are willing to listen to offers for Gomes in the current window.

He has been told he is free to find a new club as he will not have a key role next term.

Lampard is ready to sell a number of senior stars this summer to try and raise funds for his own signings.

Football Insider broke the news on Wednesday (9 June) at 7.30am that James Tarkowski was undergoing a medical that day.

He has been offered a £120,000-a-week contract by Everton and a full agreement is now in place, with an announcement expected soon.

Gomes could be one of multiple big-name departures at Goodison this summer.

The futures of prize assets Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison are also up in the air on the back of a wretched campaign in which Everton narrowly avoided relegation.

It would trim the wage bill considerably if Everton were to offload Gomes.

He signed a five-year contract worth around £120,000-a-week when he joined permanently in the summer of 2019 following a successful season on loan from Barcelona.

Gomes made only seven starts among 19 appearances in all competitions in the recently-completed 2021-22 campaign.
