‘Everton have just executed clever deal’ – top source reveals

Everton’s owners have been praised for completing a “clever” financial deal behind the scenes.

Back in December, The Friedkin Group completed a takeover at Everton, acquiring Farhad Moshiri’s controlling stake in the club.

It has been rumoured that the US investors could be set to facilitate the sale of the Toffees women’s team, in order to help the club stay within Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

Chelsea were the first to use the workaround, and last month, Aston Villa took advantage of the loophole to avoid a PSR breach.

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes his old side may have even “already executed” the sale.

‘Everton receive maximum value from Goodison Park’

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness revealed that Everton are now simply registering all of the changes that have, or are about to, take place.

As per Companies House, the Merseyside club have filed a number of documents that indicate the sale of their women’s side is imminent, or has already happened.

Wyness added that keeping Goodison Park was a clever move from Everton, as it increases the value of the whole group.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I think a lot of the things have already probably been executed already, and are now being registered.

It all relates back to why it was such a clever move to keep Goodison and put the women’s team in there, and then value that as one whole unit rather than just a women’s team by itself playing in different smaller grounds around the region.

It really does allow you to get maximum value for Goodison. Once that unit is established, it will probably be sold to either one of the Friedkin Group companies or to the Everton Groups themselves, one of the group companies.”

‘Everton plan to accept £25m offer’

Meanwhile, Everton are reportedly open to offers for Beto this summer amid growing interest from clubs in Europe as well as links with a move to Leeds United.

That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who claims that David Moyes is planning for life without the 27-year-old.

The Toffees are aiming to get back the £25million spent to bring him to Merseyside in 2023, while work is ongoing to sign a second striker after Thierno Barry.

This comes after Football Insider revealed on 5 July that Everton are interested in Millwall star Mihailo Ivanovic and could land him alongside their deal for Barry.
