Everton are one of six clubs interested in playmaker Clement Grenier from Ligue 1 outfit Guingamp, according to a report.
L’Equipe claims that the French attacking midfielder is weighing up his future despite the fact he only joined Guingamp in January, but the fact he performed so well has seen clubs circle for him.
It is understood the Toffees, Fulham, Newcastle, AC Milan, Fenerbahce and Rennes could all be vying for his signature.
The report details that the 27-year-old seems pretty certain he wants a move this summer and preferably wants a switch to a team in Europe, but could be tempted by the Premier League.
Football Insider verdict:
Grenier is an experienced creator that is most recognised for his long spell with Lyon, but his time with the French giants faded out and he linked up with Guingamp in January. He made a brilliant impact at his new side, scoring five goals and supplying four assists in just 15 appearances. He may have managed to reignite his form in the past six months, but he had fallen out of favour at Lyon and it would be a surprise if he could be the man to light up Goodison Park next season. Everton may be better served spending their money elsewhere and they do already have a chief midfield operator in Gylfi Sigurdsson in the squad. New manager Marco Silva wants to play an attacking style of football that he has overseen at his former clubs and supporters can still expect some kind of attacking additions before the new campaign starts.
In other Everton news, they must abandon their £40m pursuit and turn their attention to a Championship flyer.
