Exclusive: Everton set sights on two players at north-west club

Everton have set their sights on Bolton Wanderers pair Ronan Darcy and Dennis Politic, Football Insider has learned.

The teenage attackers have growing reputations after being fast-tracked into the first team of the cash-strapped League One club this season.

An Everton source has told Football Insider the club are scouting them both this season and intend to closely monitor their development.

Winger, Politic, 19, has been been a mainstay of the Bolton starting XI this season and earned rave reviews for his performances.

The Romania youth international has made 11 appearances for the third-tier side, and scored against Rochdale and Bradford in the cup competitions.

He is also on the radar of Premier League duo Aston Villa and Wolves as well as Rangers.

Darcy has also come through the youth ranks at Bolton and been one of the beneficiaries of the club’s financial problems, which forced them to rely almost entirely on young players before nine players were signed on deadline day at the start of last month.

He has made eight appearances in all competitions this season and scored his first senior goal in the League Cup.

Both players had non-league loan spells last season, with Ormskirk-born Darcy at non-League side Skelmersdale United and Politic at Salford City.

Everton have the resources to make Bolton offers they could not refuse for their two rising stars, but they would need to convince them of a pathway to their first team.

In other Everton news, it can be REVEALED that the club are plotting a move to sign £40million goal machine.
