Sources: Kenwright champions Moyes to be new Everton manager amid West Ham latest
Everton chairman Bill Kenwright is championing David Moyes as a successor to Carlo Ancelotti, Football Insider understands.
The 75-year-old longstanding chairman wanted Moyes to replace Marco Silva when he was sacked in December 2019.
An Everton source told Football Insider that Kenwright retains great admiration for the West Ham manager.
It is understood he maintains a good relationship with the 58-year-old despite being furious and upset when he quit for Man United in 2013.
Everton accept that any pursuit of Moyes is a long shot given he is in advanced talks over a new West Ham contract.
But he is one of the two leading early contenders for the post along with Nuno Espirito Santo.

Everton owner Farhad Moshiri is believed to be a big admirer of Nuno and has already spoken to his agent Jorge Mendes.
Further down the pecking order are FC Porto manager Sergio Conceicao and Rafael Benitez.
Everton are in need of a new boss following Ancelotti’s jolting departure to Real Madrid, as first reported by this site in mid-May.
In Moyes, the Toffees would be returning to a tried-and-tested formula that worked like a well-oiled machine between 2002 and 2013.
The Merseysiders finished in the top six on four occasions during the Scot’s decade at the helm.
They also qualified for the Champions League once, at the end of the 2004-05 campaign.
It is a feat he almost repeated last season with West Ham, though they ultimately had to settle for a 6th-place finish.
It is Moyes’ second spell in charge of the Hammers after steering the ship away from the rocks of relegation towards the tail end of the 2017-2018 season.
He was reinstated 18 months later after Manuel Pellegrini’s tenure came to an abrupt end in December 2019.
Prior to his two stretches at the London Stadium, Moyes also took charge of Real Sociedad and Sunderland after being dismissed by Man United chiefs in 2014.
