Key Southampton player set to follow Koeman to Everton - report

By Coral Barry

Southampton fear Fraser Forster could follow Ronald Koeman out of St Mary’s and sign for Everton this summer.

The England international has enjoyed a standout year so far after missing the entirety of the first half of the season through injury.

Forster went on to collect six clean sheets in 18 Premier League appearances and the Sun claim Everton-bound Koeman wants to bring the goalkeeper with him to Goodison Park.

Koeman is reported to have already agreed personal terms with Everton and Southampton are now thought to be bracing themselves for a raid by the Dutchman if he does depart.

Questions have also been raised about the future of Joel Robles, who is now the only senior goalkeeper left at Everton.

The Spaniard has made just 20 league starts in three years at Everton and Koeman has reportedly decided that Forster could be the answer to his potential new goalkeeping problems.

Forster, who stands at a giant 6ft 7in, only recently signed a new long term deal with the Saints that ties him down until 2021 at the club.

Any transfer would then require a substantial offer from Everton as Southampton begin another summer of fending off interest for their best players.

Sadio Mane, Victor Wanyama and Shane Long are all thought to be keeping an eye on the door if Koeman does join Everton in the coming days.
