Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has insisted he expects David Moyes to be backed with "two or three" signings in this window.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 67-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – claimed his former side have "£15million" in headroom under Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) before they incur a potential punishment.

Moyes replaced Sean Dyche as Everton boss last week with the Merseysiders teetering close to the Premier League relegation zone.

The Scot lost his first game in charge on Wednesday (15 January), overseeing a 1-0 home defeat against Aston Villa.

Everton sit 16th in the table and are just one point above the relegation zone after playing 20 games this term.

Everton have '£15m' to spend, says Wyness

Wyness told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “The PSR situation, as far as I can see with my calculations, show Everton having about £15million of headroom.

“Of course, we had looked at Beto being sold. But with Broja’s injury, he looks like he will be out for some time.

“But there’s no doubt David Moyes will want to freshen things up.

“We’ve got limited loan spaces available, but I think there will be deals in that area. David is the master of spotting talent from lower leagues.

“I’m sure he’s got people he was looking at with West Ham who are still very relevant.

“I do expect two or three new faces to come in this month.

“If there is anyone going out, there could even be more signings.”
