Everton are keen to extend the contract of striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin if they remain in the Premier League, sources have told Football Insider.

The striker's current deal is set to expire in June 2025 following his last extension in March 2020.

Sean Dyche's side are currently in no rush to open talks with uncertainty surrounding Everton's takeover and their Premier League status - with all focus currently on remaining in the top flight.

But a well-placed source has told Football Insider that if the Merseysiders avoid relegation - they will open talks with Calvert-Lewin about renewing his deal.

He has made 33 appearances across all competitions so far in the 2023-24 campaign, notching six goals and two assists.

The England international has started in 27 of those outings and has enjoyed his healthiest season in recent memory.

Calvert-Lewin has scored against Burnley and Newcastle this month but was left out of the 6-0 loss against Chelsea with a tight hamstring.

Everton's Premier League survival will be key to keeping the striker around - and they currently sit just two points above the drop zone in 16th.

Dyche's side are next in action against 17th-place Nottingham Forest on Sunday (21 April).
