Everton player ratings v Huddersfield: Midfield regular an awful 4/10
Sam Allardyce’s first game in charge of Everton had a fairytale start as he was able to guide his side to victory over Huddersfield Town thanks to Gylfi Sigurddson grabbing the first goal of the new regime.
The Toffees controlled the game for brief spells during the first-half, but couldn’t seem to put any passes together in row, and were frustrating their fans with their sloppiness.
However, the first-half was poor for both teams thankfully for Everton, as they looked a shadow of the team that defeated West Ham 4-0 in their last game.
The second-half was a different story, as Everton came alive to get themselves in front as Dominic Calvert-Lewin skillfully flicked the ball to Sigurddson who fired the ball home.
Calvert-Lewin then got a goal for himself in the 73rd minute to secure Allardyce’s first win as Everton boss.
