Dan Friedkin will make funds available to Everton for the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed the US billionaire and his team are acutely aware of the challenge the Toffees face this term and will fund squad reinforcements to help the cause in the mid-season window.

Football Insider revealed on Tuesday (1 October) that Friedkin will be unwilling to sell star man Jarrad Branthwaite in January.

Sources say the incoming owner will not sell any of the club's star assets mid-season with the threat of relegation looming large.

Friedkin plans to work on strengthening the squad as he gets his feet under the table at Goodison Park.

Sources told Football Insider last week (28 September) that Everton will make signing a striker a priority in January.

That decision comes amid uncertainty over the situation of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who is out of contract at the end of the season.

Sean Dyche's side picked up their first Premier League win on Saturday (28 September), beating Crystal Palace 2-1 at home.

The Toffees sit 16th in the table after losing their first four games - but have turned the corner with four points in their last two top-flight fixtures.

Friedkin has agreed a deal to buy Farhad Moshiri's 94% stake at Goodison Park - despite pulling out of an agreement earlier this year.

Football Insider has revealed (25 September) that he could receive Premier League approval within the next six weeks to complete his takeover, which would put him in charge before the January window opens.
