Kieran Maguire: Everton have secured £90m-plus windfall after 'huge' reveal
Everton have secured a £90million-plus windfall after the Premier League was given approval to roll over the current TV deal.
So says finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after the Government gave the green light on 3rd August.
The current deal with Sky Sports, BT Sport and Amazon Prime is worth £4.7billion and ends in 2022.
Maguire told this site in May that Premier League teams will pocket £90m at the very least from the deal.
That figure is then scaled up according to performance-related factors and how often any given club is chosen for broadcast.
Everton were one of the hardest-hit clubs by the pandemic and lost £139.9m in the last financial year alone.

And Maguire claims that the government’s decision to rubber-stamp the rollover deal will come as a big relief to the Toffees.
“This is a huge achievement from the Premier League’s perspective,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.
“The current deal had a reduction in revenues of 10 per cent. But this gives a degree of certainty to clubs such as Everton.
“We’ve seen the Bundesliga deal decrease, The French deal has had a huge haircut, Italian football has had a decline as well.
“We have reached saturation point and the TV companies have said enough is enough. So to get a continuation of the present level is a really good outcome.“
Everton get their 2021-22 Premier League campaign underway at home to Southampton on 14th August.
They finished 10th in the final standings last term.
