Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has insisted prospective new owner Dan Friedkin will be able to fund transfer business even before his takeover is made official.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – claimed "all the signs are pointing to a great Friedkin era" after early developments on Merseyside.

Friedkin struck an exclusivity agreement with Farhad Moshiri to buy Everton last month and is now conducting due diligence before the deal becomes official.

The Toffees have been making moves in the transfer market in the meantime, signing Aston Villa midfielder Tim Iroegbunam and Marseille forward Iliman Ndiaye.

Friedkin can fund Everton transfer blizzard before official takeover, says Wyness

Wyness claimed Friedkin will be able to funnel money into the club through loans.

He told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “We’re looking at six weeks until Friedkin officially takes over.

“However, that doesn’t mean he can’t have influence at the club.

“In most of these situations, any player deals in or out will be approved by the new owner.

“He will have a say in those deals, and he’ll be able to funnel money in with loans.

“So lots of positive things can happen before that six weeks is up.

“All the signs are pointing to a great Friedkin era getting underway now.”
