Everton have set their sights on signing Stuttgart winger Silas Mvumpa, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed the Merseyside club are looking to “strengthen their attacking options” in the January transfer window.

A lot depends on whether The Friedkin Group takeover goes through before the turn of the year, with Sean Dyche and Everton hopeful that is the case.

Dyche is in the market for more wingers and the 24-year-old is a player that is on Everton’s radar.

Mvumpa has a release clause of around £12million with the German outfit, which Everton could look to trigger.

Mvumpa has the versatility to not only play out wide, but also down the middle as a number nine as well.

Well-placed sources have told Football Insider that The Friedkin Group will “do everything” to make funds available to give Dyche the best chance of avoiding another possible relegation fight as the club prepares to move into their new stadium.

Mvumpa is currently on loan at Red Star Belgrade and has scored twice in three Super Liga Sbrije appearances.

The winger has scored 49 goals and provided 23 assists across his entire career after making 173 professional appearances.
