Everton have joined the race for sought-after Charlton attacker Ademola Lookman and will look to make a move in January, according to a report.

According to The Mirror, Lookman had previously caught the eye of director of football Steve Walsh while he was head of recruitment at Leicester.

Now, Everton are set to join long-term suitors Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool in the race for his signature.

All three rival clubs were reported to have been watching Lookman as he scored two goals for Charlton in their 3-1 win over Scunthrope in the FA Cup on Saturday.

Tottenham had previously been looking to sign Lookman before the summer transfer deadline, according to a reliable journalist.

TalkSPORT host Ian Abrahams, a sports reporter and commentator for 24 years, claimed on his personal Twitter account that Tottenham were looking to sign Lookman on deadline day.

The Mirror claims that Charlton fended off interest from Crystal Palace on the last day of the summer deadline by asking for £10million for the player.

Lookman has a contract at Charlton until June 2020 but could look to cash in on their prized asset if the price is right.

The 19-year-old has made 15 appearances in League One this season, scoring three goals. He bagged five goals in 24 appearances in the Championship last season.
