Everton and Chelsea target Graziano Pelle has returned to Southampton’s Staplewood training ground – and dropped a hint about his future by expressing joy at his return.

The Italian Euro 2016 star revealed via his personal Twitter account that he had returned to the south coast and met with the Hampshire based club’s new coaching staff.

Ronald Koeman has recently departed Southampton for Premier League rivals Everton and he has been replaced at St Mary’s Stadium by Frenchman Claude Puel.

However, the in-demand striker doesn’t seem too deterred despite the manager who brought him to the Premier League and worked with him at Feyenoord leaving the Saints.

It was reported on Football Insider on Wednesday that Chelsea had joined the race for Everton target Graziano Pelle and are preparing to place a bid this week.

It is believed that Southampton are looking for between £10million and £20million for the 30-year-old striker who has one more year left on his contract which he signed in the summer of 2014.

The former Parma goal-scorer represents hot property after enjoying another prolific season at St Mary’s Stadium, scoring 14 goals and providing seven assists throughout the campaign.

Koeman is keen to stop the in-form striker moving to west London and land Pelle for the third time.

The move could be one of several new additions at Goodison Park this summer as Farhad Moshiri prepares to spend big in order to secure European football for the Blues next season.
