Everton tipped to complete Van De Beek signing as '£40m' price tumbles - Mills
Danny Mills has tipped Everton to complete the signing of Donny van de Beek from Man United in the January transfer window.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Man City and England defender delivered his verdict after Marcel Brands revealed Everton’s interest in Van De Beek.
Speaking to Dutch broadcaster NOS’s Along the Line, Brands revealed Man United pulled the plug on a deal at the end of the summer window.
Everton’s director of football refused to rule out a move for the 19-time Netherlands international in the new year.
Van de Beek is down the pecking order at Man United and has managed just six minutes of Premier League action this term.
Asked whether he thought a move to Everton could materialise, Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “Yes.

“He’s a quality player but for whatever reason, he hasn’t had an opportunity at Manchester United. It hasn’t worked.
“Where does he go next? Man United paid £40million for him but he’s clearly not worth that anymore, he can’t be because United simply haven’t used him.
“I would guess, you’d have to take over his wages, maybe add a year or two to his contract then a transfer fee. That depends on how badly Man United want him out and off the wage bill.
“He’s a quality player he just needs an opportunity to play.”
Van De Beek has endured a nightmare spell at Old Trafford since his move from Ajax last summer.
The 24-year-old has played 39 times for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side but that includes just four starts in the Premier League.
